Our Policies

Artlet’s Health and Safety Statement:

Safeguarding all learners is our top priority. Artlet implements a Child and Youth Risk Management Strategy and follows strict risk assessment procedures for all workshops. All Artlet employees hold current Blue Cards (and exemption cards) and have completed compulsory Student Protection training for the schools we work within.

At Artlet we take safety very seriously. Our educators teach and model safe and respectful behaviour, including online. We promote and implement inclusive practises that fosters an environment where everyone has equal opportunities to participate, feel confident and create in a judgement-free and kind workspace. Artlet is committed to encouraging and maintaining safe and healthy creative practices and expects the same from our young artists. Your child is responsible for their individual behaviour. Any dangerous actions or unsafe or disrespectful behaviour and/or language in our workshops will not be accepted and you will be notified immediately.

Throughout our workshops participants will be exposed to a range of tactile materials, art products and tools in an independent, yet supportive, working environment. Each workshop is risk assessed and measures are in place to ensure safe practise so that hazards and risks to health and safety are eliminated or minimised - as far as is reasonably practicable. We are aware though that sometimes accidents may occur and in these circumstances, you will be notified immediately and our educators will support your school’s practices and processes.

Due to the therapeutic nature of art, we are aware that practical workshops have the possibility of triggering or unlocking various responses or traumas in students. In the event that personal or confidential information is shared during our workshops, our employees are trained to respond appropriately and report information to your school in accordance with mandatory reporting obligations and Student Protection guidelines.

Notification of Needs and Requirements

We want every child to enjoy their experience at our Artlet workshops. Please ensure that you notify Artlet of all needs and requirements of your child(REN) are shared with us upon booking so that we can provide them with the best support possible and maximise their engagement and safety. Needs may include, but are not limited to - dietary, allergies, behavioural, physical, learning, emotional needs.

Our workshops allow for 15 children to one adult facilitator so unfortunately individual instruction is not possible. If your child requires 1:1 support or attention to assist them in working independently, please get in touch to discuss private and smaller group options. Failing to advise us on your child’s needs can be dangerous for everybody involved in our workshops - especially when crafting tools and materials are used. Safety is our priority for all our students and failure to notify us may result in your booking being cancelled without a refund or credit.

Cancellation and Refund Policy:

Create & Connect / Creative Mindset / Holiday Programs

Credit notes and refunds cannot be issued for missed lessons. Where possible, we will do our best to send missed materials home for your child to complete the task they missed. Participants will be advised 24 hours prior to the workshop taking place should the session be cancelled by Artlet, along with a full refund for that cancelled session.

Should your child(ren) not be able to attend a workshop, please let us know. At Artlet, keeping our artists safe and healthy is our number one priority. If your child is sick please keep them home as we share materials and tools and work in close proximity to each other, which means germs can be easily passed on between our students and educators. If your child arrives to class unwell or has had the day off school before coming to our session, you will be advised to collect them. We trust that you understand how important this is to us as a very small business with limited staffing options.

School / Early Years / OSHC / Team Incursions
