In response to the growing social, emotional and academic pressures faced by children both in and out of school, Artlet was established in 2019 with a vision for art-based education that moved away from perfecting techniques, reproducing artworks and stress-inducing practices. Our workshops provide a supportive and respectful creative environment that allows children the freedom to explore, relax and express themselves through art, craft and design.

At the core of all our programs and workshops is self-development, self-reflection and self-love. More than ‘just an art class’, our workshops and incursions are purposefully designed around art processes, play and exploration to strengthen resilience, build confidence and reduce stress. Artlet is passionate about facilitating creative learning experiences that nurture and develop the wellbeing and social and emotional capabilities of all children.

Based in Brisbane, we specialise in after-school and homeschool programs, primary school and OSHC/vacation care incursions, holiday and team development workshops and parties.

At Artlet, we apply creativity to all that we do - as a business and as educators. Our passion lies in designing and facilitating learning experiences that ignite and nurture creativity, enhance and strengthen mindsets and encourage reflection and appreciation of self and the world around us. Our workshops provide a supportive and respectful creative environment that allows children the freedom to explore and experiment with art processes and techniques and express themselves through art, craft and design using a wide range of media, tools and textiles. Our team of qualified and experienced teachers and artists promote critical thinking and problem solving by encouraging our learners to take inspiration from the world around them, interpret artwork and imagery independently, think outside the box and trust in their own abilities when producing unique ideas and outcomes.

Artlet founder, Georgina McDonald, has worked in education for close to 20 years across Brisbane and London. She brings with her a rich skill set and expertise in primary school teaching, school leadership, Arts education and graphic design, as well as experiences in e-Learning (QUT), children’s print media (Courier Mail), and health education (Queensland Health). Georgina’s knowledge of teaching, child development and learning design supports her in building engaging workshops that nurture and enrich children’s love of learning, strengthen development and promote wellbeing.

“Art and creative learning have the ability to provide an escape, create connection, offer new experiences and overall, shape us positively as humans. As Artlet grows, our aim is to extend our support to teens and adults and continue providing creative opportunities that enhance and positively impact social, emotional and mental wellbeing for all ages.”

“Creativity has the power to shape children and launch them into a lifetime of curiosity, appreciation and respect.”

— George, Founder of Artlet
